Is Work-Life Balance Doable?

This is the biggest question when you’re working and at the same time, trying to maintain a life outside your job. Is it still doable nowadays? Yes, it is and it doesn’t depend on what type of job you have. It depends on you and your capability to think that it’s doable. Though you will hear a lot of people say that you will struggle to a great extent before you achieve that work-life balance you are aiming for, just ignore the noises. If you can think it, you can do it. Here’s what you need to remember if you want to maintain work-life balance plus some investing tips.

Do Not Overwork

The standard working hours for a typical employee is 8 hours and it could maximize to 10 hours with overtime. To maintain a work-life balance, always aim to work within the standard hours. Do not be a hero and overwork yourself. You will only get fatigued and burnout when you are using yourself at your maximum capacity. At times, your job will require you to incur additional working hours but avoid doing it everyday especially if your body cannot tolerate extreme tiredness. Yes, overtime can give you extra income but remember what it can do to your mind and to your health. Do not overwork!

Do Extra-Curricular Activities

Don’t just preoccupy yourself with work. Do things that can make you forget your job when you are outside your office. Exercise regularly, interact with your friends, learn something new by reading books and watching informational videos, travel alone, learn to invest. But amidst it all, do not spend too much on extra-curricular activities. Just stay within your budget while you are balancing your life outside work. The secret to maintaining work-life balance is to seek to do other things that will make you appreciate the importance of time and opportunities. Maximize what you can do with your time while enjoying the things you are doing.

Think Of Ways To Earn More

Work-life balance is better if you have other channels of income other than your job. Imagine you are traveling while your passive income is increasing. The satisfaction is different when you are spending and earning at the same time. Think of other ways to earn more and do it together with your steps towards achieving your work-life balance. You can start by investing a minimum amount to stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. If you don’t have an idea about investing yet, start by reading investing books to feed your mind with useful information.

I’m excited to share my 5th book overall and the 4th book in the Stock Smarts series, Stock Smarts: Breaking the Resistance – How to time your traders perfectly. The heart of this book is to teach you strategic ways on how to come in and buy and sell stocks in a way where you come as the market is headed up and come out as the market is headed down.
