Obviously, our fight here is against the pandemic. We are not only fighting for our health. Everyone is experiencing losses in their businesses, work, and investments. The pandemic is affecting the market in general. But, should you get affected mentally and emotionally too? The answer depends on you. Is this the best time to let go of your investments?

Before you decide to sell your investments, ask yourself first—is it really worth the loss? Are you going to give up your investments because of 5-10% losses or are you willing to wait for the market to recover? At a time like this, you need to do serious brainstorming. You need to use your time at home to study all your options. You don’t need to decide based on your emotions because that’s only going to affect your decisions badly. You need to set your head straight and assess if the move you are going to make is really worth the loss.
As you can see, the market is getting greener. One major reason I consider is the regulation of the PSE in terms of the trading hours. If PSE hasn’t amended the trading hours, investors would probably sell their investments overnight until the market hits the rock bottom. Now, the market is starting to recover. Investors seem to be thinking thoroughly right now. After evaluating if it’s really worth the loss, start asking yourself if it’s really the best time to sell.
Amidst all of these happening, don’t forget to stick to your trading plans and strategies. You need something solid to rely on at times like this. You don’t need another reason to give up. You don’t need another reason to sell your stocks and suffer from the losses. What you need right now is a strong foundation to hold on to. Always go back to your foundation if you need reliable information to back up your decisions. Go through your trading plans and make new strategies from them. Again, this is not the best time to show your emotional and mental weakness. Don’t let your emotions dictate your trading decisions.
