Norman Vincent Peale once said that “promises are like crying babies in a theater, they should be carried out at once.” This short poem by our columnist, Ge Cantor, reminds us of the common promises we make during the different stages in our lives. And life insurance is just one of those tools that can help us fulfill such promises, “just in case.”
Remember your younger self, you promised that you will be successful and rich in life…
Remember when you graduated from college and got your first job, you promised your parents that “ako naman”…
Remember when you got married, you promised your husband or your wife a life full of bliss, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do you part…
Remember when you had your first child, you promised your son or your daughter a future so bright…
Remember when you had your second child, you promised “again” that this time you will make it right…
Remember when you got your first job abroad, you promised your family that a better life is definitely within sight…
Remember when you started your own business, you promised your employees that they will grow with you…
Remember when you got your dream house, you promised that you will pay it in full soon and more importantly, make it a happy home…
Remember when you were about to retire, you promised that you and your spouse will be financially independent and both of you will see the world…
Now, remember all those sweet promises, those warm and wonderful feelings…
But as they say, life is short and the next day promises nothing…
That piece of paper may value nothing now…
But at least, it can help you COMMIT and KEEP one of those promises…
As a certain John Green says, “love is keeping the promise anyway.”
